Things I found useful from reading the report :

Music Videos 

- Many of the best works are the ones which have the most thorough contextual detail that met the specific requirements (" relating to genre, representation and industrial context). 

- Concepts that did not match the genre of the song were usually unsuccessful. Additionally, narratives in the videos which were not clear nor relevant to the song's message. ("simplistic narratives...imposed with little or no consideration of the content/mood/tone of the track")

- The more creative videos were the ones which incorporated more technical elements into the product whilst demonstrating "a fundamental understanding of"codes and conventions. Emphasizes again the  importance of adhering to genre. 

- In terms of representation, costumes were not utilized as way to enhance the variety of  people presented in the video. Representation is a key part of the spec, needing to represent more than two social groups. 

- "Failure to mention the name of the band/artist at the start or end of a video". A key convention of music videos which tends to be forgotten. 

Online content - websites

- The best work for t websites were the ones which included creative audio-visual work to accompany the promotion strategy. This included "make-overs...look-books...interviews"

- Some of the more unsuccessful websites tended to focus more on the song and music as opposed to promoting the actual artist. ("did not meet the requirements of the brief")

- It's also mentioned that many websites were not factually accurate, hosting concerts that are too expensive for the artist's "modest production values". Very strict attention to detail 

- In order to achieve top grades, a strong connection between the online content and social media platforms need to be stronger. For example : "tweets, Instagram posts, merchandise, newsletter)

- The actual navigation through the website needs to be clear to the examiner, making sure that links and pages are working properly. It's also notable that "as only one linked page can be assessed, it was often the case that the first linked page the moderator looked at did not contain much content, the candidate having spread out the content over a number of pages. This adversely impacted the marks that can be given"
